Nice ambience for a Thai restaurant. The food is well prepared, more elaborated and better presented to the table than the traditional thai around, which make worth a visit.
Really cute. Great atmosphere. Attentive, fast wait staff. I thought the pricing was more than the listed $$ (It was like $7 for the fried spring rolls)Would recommend it because it was excellent but it was a bit more money than I expected.
Definitely not the best Thai food I had & didn't finish food.
Feel like having the best Thai in town?
Hannah the waitress has a bad attitude and is a liability to the restaurant. Completely rude to my family and behaved as if she is doing such a huge favor by attending to us.Her demeanor is shameful.Manager didn’t even apologize for her behavior after we brought it up to her, just made excuses. The owner of this place needs to re-assess who they are hiring. Owner can contact me if they want to know more. Just reply to this review with a direct phone number.
Great food, service, and cocktails!
Food was delicious...our waiter Sal was a great host. We had a large party and he memorized everyone's order! Impressive! The only thing is that it took a long time for our food to come our after the apps. Otherwise everything was great!
The mango Mojito‘s are incredible. 🍹
If you love spicy, you'll love this place. A bit pricy, but food is good
Nice place, nice service, food is below average
A cut above typical Thai food in NYC. Pricier too, but the quality and presentation of the food was solid. We shared 2 excellent dishes .Respectable wines available by the glass to complement dining options. Dinner for 2 including an appetizer and 2 glasses of wine was about $80 plus tip. Looking forward to returning.
This has been a favorite spot in New York City since my brother and his wife have given us reason to visit the big city a couple times per year. The pork pao lo is one of my favorite entrees on the entire planet, and the volcano soup is the perfect appetizer to match. It's beautifully decorated and doesn't seem like the kind of place that would want kids, but we've almost always had to take ours and they've always been very accommodating though there isn't much on the menu for little ones.
Excellent Thai food. A little on the expensive side but so worth it. Great looking restaurant, excellent food good service too. Very clubby atmosphere low lights very dark but well done.
Upscale Thai fare in a small but meticulously decorated space. The staff is extremely friendly and they will even order things for you that are not on the menu (I asked for a Phat si-io or Pad See Ew and they happily obliged). Worth a mention: the Thai spice inspired cocktails. Try the Tamarind spiced take on the traditional Ild Fashioned.
This place is great - I’m not a big fan of spicy food and found a sweet and sour chicken in the menu that is just amazing - wish I could come here every week...
My husband and I have been going to Jaiya for years and were excited that there is a location in UES when we moved into the neighborhood. However, each time we went, it wasn't as good as the last until when we went on Monday night this week and it was legitimately bad. The Tom Yum Soup was lukewarm, Larb was extremely salty, our favorite Triple Three Flavor Whole Snapper was overcooked, their most popular Wok Basil had barely anything besides sauce and shrimp and even the Drunken Noodles were slightly sour. The food took a long time to come out even though the restaurant wasn't busy. The meal was overpriced for the quality and to make things worse, they automatically included a 20% tip in the bill even though we only had 5 people and the service was just so-so. We were very disappointed and will likely not go back again.
The Soups are a must. Volcanic display but the fire is in the flavor!! MmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmNoodles, vegetarian duck and curries are all delicious. Skip dessert. Cool the fire with insomniac cookies next door. Order on the app beforehand, so you'll have warm and fresh cookies when you reach.
Terrible service. Very spicy food. Food take hours to be served . Don’t go there
A peaceful atmosphere with friendly staff and delicious Thai food. I had the Pad See Ew with squid. My friend had the broiled shrimp. Everything looked so good, especially the dessert menu. I highly recommend the seasonal mango on sticky rice. You won't be disappointed.
Amazing food and service
Delicious food, the red curry with mock duck is my favorite. Great ambience. The service is friendly and pretty quick every time. Be careful of the spice level, it can get you!
Best Thai food in NYC
One of my fave places to eat in NYC. Terrific food and service. Get the mild as anything more will be too hot. You can always add spicy sauce if needed. Go here 2-3 times a year.
Nice place, good food.
Pathetic restaurant with terrible staff. Seems like a place that’s just riding the good name with complete amateurs running it without any experience. The manager has no clue of any regulations with a baby. Also, they keep their online reservations open when they don't have any real opening so be prepared to wait for at least 30 mins after making a reservation. We were better off going to Up Thai. Another Thai restaurant very close to this location with a great staff, great reviews, better food, and are honest about their wait times! Some places are about serving good food and some that don't care but just want to make quick money. This is the latter. If I had a choice I would give this place negative ratings!!
Great food selection. Drinks a little overpriced. Sometimes wait can be long for food.
Awesome Thai food. Worth a try!
Great food, friendly waiters, reasonable price.
Absolutely perfect!! The service was quick and polite, the food was the right portion and quick as well. So beautiful inside and relaxing.
Great Thai food. Comes pretty close to the taste of food in Thailand. Be careful when you ask for spicy food there. It is super spicy. Great food though.
One of our favorite places to eat! We don't live in NY anymore but whenever we're here, we make it a point to come to Jaiya! The red snapper and curry sauce is absolutely delicious. Food is always fresh, I don't think there's anything we've tasted that we didn't like.
Great experience! Seriously delicuous food. The waiter Salvatore was fabulous!!!! Thank you so much for your service and delicious food!!! Always happy to be back :-)
Some of the best Thai food I've had in a long time. Also would definitely recommend their lemongrass drink.
Beautiful ambience with friendly staff. The food is delicious, just select anything from the menu its tasty. beware of your spice level before ordering, as their spicy is like really super spicy. Even spicy for this Indian girl. This is my husband's go to place. Have given 1 star less as I have been to this place several times from past few years and the taste has been consistent till my recent last two visits last week. I hope they haven't changed their cook.
Absolutely delicious! One of the few places in the city that I come regularly for that Thai fix. Great food. Amazing ambience. Perfect amount of spice. Make sure you listen to the waiter's spice recommendation otherwise your meal may end prematurely thanks to your gut.
The best Thai food in NYC, food is great, ambient is very nice, wait staff nice and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Very broad choice of appetizers and other dishes. Cocktails are good too. I recommend this place.
The food is amazing. The ambience is very good. But the wait is tooooo long. I have been to this restaurant quite a few times in the last 2 years, but everytime the wait for the food wether pick up or dine is on an average 25-30 mins.
So it's a hit or miss. We visited here a few months back and had the best mock duck appetizer dish ever. And went the other day and it was just not even good. Even the "mild" was too spicy - and we always like spicy. The atmosphere and the drinks are great though.
This was my 3rd time coming here over the past 4 years. The past 2 times were amazing, a genuine 5/5 but this time I cannot say the same. The food was good but it was the service that killed it. We had a party of 6, we ordered drinks, appetizers and entrees. The drinks came 40 minutes after we ordered, even after appetizers were served (we asked servers 2 times about it) . 5 out of 6 entrees were served. We had to remind the waiter about entree 6 which was served 30 minutes later...on top of that there is a mandatory 20% gratuity for party of 6 or more? The reason why I rate this 3 stars and not 1 is because I'm a fan of spicey food and this place has just that. This is an authentic thai restaurant which serves its dishes with a high degree of spice. Our waiter told us to rate the level of spiciness from 1 to 5. I asked for 3.5 and liked it. My wife thought my entree was too spicey though. Overall the service killed Jaiya for us and we will be exploring other Thai restaurants.
I eat here a lot since I work close by. I got to say their customer service is always fantastic and they keep the place neat all the time. Pricing is fair and they serve generous portions.
The ambiance is so awesome and different from any other Thai food spot. The food is so damn tasty!! Everything melts in your mouth. I love how fresh all the ingredients are!!! And the workers...let me tell you. They are all so sweet and always smiling! I just felt so welcomed as soon as I walked in! You won't regret coming here and you'll leave this place wanting to come back for more!! My tummy is satisfied!
Jaiya made the best Thai food on the UES, which came at a price nonetheless. This evening ordered two of my usual dishes and they were less than satisfactory. Food was exceptionally dry and a strong sour taste to it. Think I’ll give them a skip for a couple months. Sorry!
Cute asian restaurant, well located. Their padthai is excellent. I recommend.
I always have a good experience here. Food is delicious and the staff are always friendly.
I wouldn't even give it a 1 star only had to cause that was my only option. Food was not worth the money, but service and wait time was horrible. Manager was not helpful and very rude. Would never go back. There are so many Thai restaurant in NYC and this would not be a place I would every recommend to anyone.
Never disappointed. Uptown branch is more preferable when it comes to service and ambience.
Sorry to see a downfall on service and the quality of food. I was there with my team thinking it's the same taste and service what I would get in the past but I was wrong. Server did not care to explain the menu or answer the question in right manner. Food was tasting like vinegar over power taste. I just wish them luck to train their staff how to give a service and more education on what customer is looking for.
Very cool vibe.. A+ for ambience Pad Thai was good .. service was meh.Drinks super over priced.
